The Final Countdown!

So, this is my last week in Washington DC. Monday is officially over, and actually my dad flies in tomorrow night for an accounting conference until Friday night. It'll be cool to chill with him (and without Mom around). I wonder what kind of trouble we can get into. Tomorrow morning at 9:30 am I have a tour of the White House and then go straight to work. Then Wednesday I have lunch with Senator Cochran in the Senate Dining Room. It should be a great week.

On Saturday I leave from Reagan National Airport to go to New York City until Wednesday. Stephen, my little brother (18), is flying up and we are going to stay about 30 miles upstate at my uncle's house in New Rochelle, NY. Free housing in NYC....what could be better than that. We haven't really finished planning everything that we want to see and do, but who really could. There is just to much to do. We are flying back to Jackson, MS on Wednesday night. So, I'll be back in time to observe the last two days of band camp. Man, I'm just regretting not doing band again...yeah right. Well, I will miss the time to socialize and trips are usually not as bad on the homework as you think, but it will be nice not to get up at 8:00 am on some Saturdays.

I'm ready to get home and for things to get back to normal. Things have been a little crazy lately and I've had enough of this great experience in DC to help me make future career decisions. I look forward to seeing all my guys from PMA and friends from the band and choir.

Well, nevermind. You can pray for someone else now.

Please pray for me. No specifics that I can really devulge, so just make it a nice all-around prayer. Well, prayer that I can be filled with all the fruits of the spirit.

Things have been hard lately, but I think I've broken through the end of the tunnel. Today I rented a bike from a stand that tourist use to ride around the mall, and I just rode. I rode all over the place, mostly places away from the sites and sounds. It was just me, nature, and God. I really had some time to just think and enjoy the beautiful places that are just outside the city along the Potomac. I realized today while I was out, and ironically a main topic in the church service tonight, that even thought there are always nevative things in your life, that those things are always insignificant to the blessings and positive aspects of your life. I left church which owns a coffee house by Union Station and just walked down the Mall soaking up everything....the beautifully cool weather, the little kids running around the trees, and all the families enjoying their experience in DC.

It's just been a breakthrough day. I hope that you all can have the same kind of weekend. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do tomorrow or what next week will hold, but I have my health, my family, my girl, and God's looking out for me. What else do I need to know.

What else can I say besides....Sarah is the greatest!
